10 Reasons to Buy a Merlin Annual Pass this January
We love exploring the UK with the family and often head out for day trips both near and far from home.
Of course day trips cost money and one of the way we save on our travels is to buy a Merlin Annual Pass which gets us into 32 attractions across the UK.
Merlin have just launched their famed January sale for the Merlin Annual Pass, meaning that you can get 12 months of fun from just £109 per person, but is it worth it?
The simple answer is “Yes!”
We have had so much use out of ours in the last few years that I dread to think how much we would have spent if we didn’t have them.
Here are my top reasons to buy a Merlin Annual Pass in the January sale:
1. The places you can visit
With a Merlin Annual Pass, you can experience the UK’s biggest and best attractions, including the Coca-Cola London Eye, THORPE PARK Resort, Dream Works Tours Shrek’s Adventure! London, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort, Blackpool Tower, Warwick Castle, London Dungeons, Madam Tussauds in London and Blackpool, 13 x SEA LIFE Centres across the UK and many more.
2. The money you will save!
Not only do you get free entry into the attractions by owning a Merlin Annual Pass, but it also entitles you to 20% off food and a 10% discount in the shop.
Last year we visited Merlin attractions a number of times and by having an annual pass we saved a staggering £1750 than if we had paid full price entry at each attraction.
3. Discounted entry for family and friends
Don’t fancy going alone? Well each Merlin Annual Pass Holder gets 3 ‘Share the Fun’ vouchers where a friend can join holders for just £15 each or get up to 50% off extra tickets.
4. Invites to exclusive Passholder preview events
Last year we were lucky enough to enjoy a Thorpe Park preview day in March and not only was the weather gorgeous for the time of year, but we barely had to queue for any rides as there were limited numbers of people there.
5. Complimentary standard parking at Resort Theme Parks
One of my biggest bugbears of going to some theme parks is paying to park on top of the price of tickets, but by owning a Premium Merlin Annual Pass, you get to park for free.
6. Annual Digi Pass for £50
If you like to buy photo souvenirs of your days out then being a Merlin Annual Pass holder entitles you to buy an Annual DigiPass for £50 for the year, which gives you unlimited digital photos every time you visit for 12 months and 50% off printed photos.
7. Beat the Queues
You get an exclusive Privilege Pack containing three £5 off Fastrack vouchers for a selected attraction
8. Automatic membership to the Merlin Holiday Club
The Merlin Holiday Club entitles you to some fantastic offers throughout the year. They currently have up to 40% off at selected resorts if you book before 31st January.
9. A whole Year of fun!
The Merlin Annual pass is valid for 12 months, so you can visit your favourite attractions as many times as you like. They are great for any last-minute trips out, pack a picnic, jump in the car and off you go.
10. Unexpected Perks
Merlin has partnered with some big names for extra discounts. Get 42% off breakdown cover with RAC, Kids eat free at selected Hard Rock Cafe’s, 20% off at Moto Service Areas and discounts off a Big Bus Tour of London.
It’s fair to say that we have got very good use out of our passes in the last few years and I am so excited to reveal that we are Merlin Annual Pass Ambassadors for 2017, so I will be bringing you all the latest exclusives as they happen.
There are some fabulous new additions coming in 2017 that we are really excited to see. In May, the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort will challenge guests to become Masters of Spinjitzu at the all new LEGO® NINJAGO™ World, the Gruffalo, is set to bring a brand new experience to Chessington World of Adventures Resort in 2017 and Alton Towers will be opening their brand new CBeebies themed Hotel!!
We cannot wait to visit!!

One thing we did was to save up our Tesco Clubcard Vouchers and then use these to buy Merlin Annual Passes, it made the deal even better.

The Merlin Passes sound great! I just wish we lived closer to some of the attractions so that we could get one x
Jenni
Its great value if you don’t live far from these attractions x
Naomi
It’s a great idea and a lot of savings, unfortunately all of the attractions are a bit far for us and we don’t drive. I would love it if Yorkshires magical attractions did this.
Lianne
I didnt realise you could go to so many attractions! This is definitely something to look into!
Candace
I always wondered whether or no the passes were worthwhile but now mine are older some of then venues wouldn’t appeal but I can see how with younger children you can get your monies worth
