An Easter stay at Talfan Cottage
Being a large family, when we travel we prefer the convenience of staying in a holiday cottage rather than a hotel as it gives us the space to relax without getting under each others feet.
During our holiday to North Wales we stayed in a beautiful barn conversion, Talfan Cottage, in Anglesey, not far from the famous town of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
There was a real “Wow” moment when we walked through the door, as the cottage is simply stunning, with the kitchen being our favourite room in the house.
They really have thought of everything with this kitchen design. It has a large dining table that can seat up to 8 people, all the cooking equipment you could possibly needs and even plates and cutlery for the kids.
Next to the kitchen there is a large utility area, perfect for any holiday washing and drying.
Also downstairs is a large shower room, a sitting room with a large corner sofa, wood burning stove and a digital TV and a stunning conservatory which opens onto a large patio area which would be lovely to sit out on, on a warm summers day.
The conservatory was a real sun trap and the perfect place to relax with a nice warm cuppa in the morning and also gave the kids extra space to play during the day.
Upstairs there are four bedrooms arranged as three doubles and a single.
To call our room a double does it a disservice, it is actually a huge master suite with a superking size bed and an ensuite shower room.
There is also plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for the whole family in the master suite.
Upstairs there is also a family bathroom with a bath.
The cottage also offers glimpses of the mountains of Snowdonia from the upstairs bedrooms.
Also provided are books, games, DVD’s, a highchair, travel cot and a large coat cupboard, perfect for storing hiking boots as well as all the paraphernalia that comes with an action packed holiday and a good WIFI signal.
Talfan Cottage would suit a large family group, or a group of friends looking for somewhere practical and spacious to stay as there is plenty of space, three bathrooms and parking for up to three cars.
Despite its rural location, Talfan Cottage is a short drive from the Brittania Bridge across the Menai Straights and the main A55 expressway.
For more information, availability and prices, the cottage is featured with Menai Holidays.

I’ve heard of this town, but I’ve never been to this part of Wales yet. We’re hoping to move to the midlands, so I can plan a trip after I move there next year. It would be half the distance from where I’m currently based. This cottage looks absolutely stunning!

When traveling with a big group, I find it’s often easier to stay in a place like this. You have more space and can also cook! It’s so much more comfortable than a hotel!
