Pizza Express Arundel-Review

I have lived in 3 places in my life.
Born up North in Yorkshire I moved south with my family at the age of two and there are too places I call home as I have lived in both for an equal amount of time – West Sussex and Dorset.
I grew up in West Sussex close to the town of Arundel and have many happy memories of boating down the River Arun, feeding the ducks on the lake, visiting the Wetland Centre and exploring Arundel Castle and the Cathedral and even though it is only an hour up the road, we don’t visit often enough.
At the end of December we braved the inclement weather and headed to Sussex to meet Callan who had decided to spend Christmas with his girlfriend and decided to head to the local Pizza Express in Arundel for lunch. I have to admit that I wasn’t sure about returning to the chain as I had a bad experience at their Tower Park venue a few month before.
Pizza Express has a new slogan for the new winter menu – “Get your smile on” with them waging a revolution about cutting back in the New Year and embracing what you love and I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it with lots of new options to choose from. The restaurant is small but perfectly formed and as there were 9 of us we did seem to take over almost half of it with our party.
The kids were immediately occupied with colouring pencils and stickers and got stuck into decorating their hats – with the help of the teens.

I have to admit that I have put on a few pounds over Christmas and although I am not on a diet I am watching what I eat, so I opted for the Leggara Pizza – A Classic-sized ring of the thinner, crispier Romana dough; the hole in the middle is filled with a fresh salad finished with our light house dressing and all for under 500 calories. It was delicious and something I would order again!

The kids enjoyed ordering from the Piccolo menu and the teens all had Pizza. We may also have found some extra room for yummy desserts too, although Callan and I shared our Honeycomb Cream Slice as we were so full.

After this meal my faith in Pizza Express has been restored and it was lovely to have all my children in the same place at the same time to enjoy it with me – this doesn’t happen often anymore sadly.
TIP: Check out their website / app before you visit as we secured a 25% discount code before we went which took our bill down substantially!

I don’t tend to use Pizza Express as they seem a bit expensive when compared with Pizza Hut. However, I might try them out with the 25% off.
