Sailing with Santa and City Cruises Poole

Posted on
December 21, 2018

There is one Christmas day out that has become an annual event since 2015 for us, because we love it so much – Sail with Santa around Poole Harbour.

Every year, Santa takes a break from all of his hard work in the North Pole to join City Cruise Poole for a trip around Poole Harbour, passing Brownsea Island, Sandbanks Peninsula, Studland Bay and more.

However, it is not just Santa onboard, but family favourite Dr Balloonman who provides the entertainment and magic to help get the big man on board.

Adults get to enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie whilst the kids enjoy a zany and interactive balloon modelling performance or a magic show, if Izzy Wizzy is providing the entertainment, whilst the kids are provided with a drink and a biscuit.

This year, Dr Balloonman made a fantastic penguin balloon and the now infamous wand, that is used to magic someone very special onboard, but only after some party games to choose who will perform this very special spell.

When you book the Sail with Santa Cruise, you provide the team with the kids names and ages, so they can ensure that Santa gives them an age appropriate gift and as per previous years, we were very impressed with our presents.

Whilst Santa is meeting his adoring fans and hearing about what they want for Christmas, Dr Balloonman is busy making every child a balloon gift to take home too.

The Sail with Santa cruise leaves from Poole Quay and lasts for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It costs Β£16.50 per person with under 2’s free

It really is a fantastic day out for all ages, but beware – the adults are positively encouraged to join in the games too!!

What a neat Santa event! We don’t live near water, but we do have some old southern plantation houses that do breakfasts/brunches with Santa.

My children love a boat trip as it is. Throw in some kids’ entertainment and the big man himself, and they’d be beside themselves.
