Review: Aladdin at Lighthouse Poole 2023
This weekend we were invited to the opening of Aladdin at Lighthouse Poole and what a night it was.
Starring CBeebies and Poole panto favourite favourite Chris Jarvis, who appeared as Widow Twankey, as well as writing and directing the show; the amazing Andrew Pollard and Alim Jadavji, who played Nadine and Doris in Cinderella last year and won Best Sisters at the 22/23 UK Pantomime Awards, are back as the hilarious Professor Pocus and Genie of the Lamp respectively.
I can only describe this pantomine as SPECTACULAR!!
It had kids and adults alike engaged from the very start and romps along with a mix of slapstick humour, jokes galore, music, dance and even a spot of flying!
The kids were delighted to find that Aladdins Cave is right here on the Jurassic Coast and spotted local landmarks as clever drone footage took us along to the cave full of treasures.
Aladdin is brought right up to date, with a genie obsessed with game shows and lots of local references, but the highlight of the panto here in Poole, is always the raucous “12 Days of Christmas” and the “Ghosty and Ghoulie song”.
Aladdin is laugh-out-loud fun, fast paced panto with that all important audience participation aplenty.
A must see!!
