Glamping at Crealy Meadows
We enjoy camping, although choose to go somewhere where they have some facilities to keep the kids entertained and us comfortable.
Crealy Great Adventure Park & Resort, situated in the heart of the East Devon countrysideΒ is the perfect destination for the ultimate Devon family holiday full of excitement and adventure. They have a fantastic choice of accommodation to suit all budgets and camping tastes includingΒ 5 star lodges with hot tubs, luxury themed glamping tents and the very best in facilities for family camping andΒ touring caravans.
We were invited to stay at Crealy Meadows in a Medieval Glamping Tent, which is perfect for new campers and those who like their home comforts.
Our Medieval glamping tent was huge and had a good sized living area complete with futon type sofa, dining table and chairs, kitchen dresser, a wood burning stove, belfast sink and all the utensils you need for cooking up a storm.
The MedievalΒ tent also features a master bedroom that includes a double bed hanging rail for clothes a large wooden chest of drawers and plenty of room to add a travel cot if you are travelling with a baby or toddler.
The second bedroom has fourΒ beds – two singles and a bunk bed that is perfect for the kids.
You are required to bring your own bedding, including sheets, pillows and a duvet or sleeping bag but that only makes it feel like a home from home and my kids like their home comforts.
At the front of the tent there is a small decked area with a patio table and chairs where you can sit and watch as the kids play, or sit down to eat al fresco.
Finally, the outdoor fire pit really completes the experience, so make sure youβve got the marshmallows readyβ¦
Just behind my tent was a good-sized play area with a large wooden playframe, slide and swing that the kids adored and they soon made friends with a lot of other children staying onsite and played in their for hours.
The toilet and shower block was less than a minutes walk from my tent and had plenty of toilets and showers to service the whole campsite. The shower cubicles were large enough to take all the kids in with me, with a small dressing area and shelves and hooks to hang our clothes on to stop them getting wet and it had an adjoining laundry room to wash and dry your clothes if need be.
There is a small shop onsite which is open from 8am-8pm which stocks all those essentials you may have forgotten – matches, firelighters and marshmallows in our case but if you need a bigger shop there is also a local Tesco and Sainsbury within a 10 minute drive of the park too.
If cooking in a tent fills you with fear then Crealy Adventure Park opens its doors to campers in the evening where you can enjoy the soft play area, bar and restaurant. They put on entertainment from 6.45pm which the kids adored with a disco, challenges, bingo, singers and more.
Staying at the campsite also gives you access to Crealy Adventure Park during the day to enjoy all the rides and entertainment they offer, or you can use it as a base and head off to explore the beautiful county of Devon. It is also just 25 miles away from Lyme Regis, Dorset, which is a great place to visit in the summer.
We really enjoyed our stay at Crealy Meadows and couldn’t fault the facilities. The park was well kept, clean and tidy and we will certainly be back to visit again, only this time I want to try out one of their five-star lodges, complete with a hot tub!

This looks amazing! I really want to go glamping and yet we never get round to it. My kids love being outdoors and I used to love camping pre-children, this would be a great alternative!
