Travelling to some of our favourite destinations has just got easier, as Jet2 Holiday’s have arrived at Bournemouth Airport.

I was lucky enough to be invited to a fabulous gin making workshop with Wyrd Spirts, to celebrate this launch and find out more about the 16 destinations you can fly to from Bournemouth from February 2025.

Jet2 has a top line-up of Europe’s hotspots, whether you want a short flight down to France or Spain or something a little further afield, such as Greece or Turkey. Prefer Portugal? Take off to Faro to explore the Algarve or make it Madeira if you’re the outdoorsy type. And laidback island life is all yours to discover when you touch down in the ever-popular Canaries and Balearics.

My Top 5 Destinations from Bournemouth with Jet2

Madeira

Top of my list is the beautiful Portuguese island of Madeira, with its mighty mountain landscape which is made for all sorts of sports – perfect to keep the teenagers busy!

I would love to take a Madeira Toboggan Ride on Traditional Wicker Basket Sledges. A thrilling and unforgettable ride of up to 30 Kms per hour is guaranteed, truly a story you’ll want to bring back home!

Madeira is also a marine mammal sanctuary, and the waters around the island are home to a variety of marine life making it a great location for whale and dolphin watching. The best time to see whales is between May and September, when sea conditions are better for spotting them.

Flights to Vienna are in November and December 2025, perfect for visiting their famous Weihnachtsmarkt Christmas Markets where you will find a collection of wooden stalls that sell traditional Christmas and seasonal foods & beverages, honey, jams, other delicacies, candy and chocolate, decorations, handmade toys, jewellery, and many other arts and crafts.

Dubrovnik

We are massive Games of Thrones fans and would love to visit Dubrovnik this Croatian city served as the primary filming location for King’s Landing.

The city’s stunning medieval architecture, dramatic cliffs, and beautiful coastal views perfectly captured the essence of the fictional capital of Westeros and with key sites like the Walls of Dubrovnik and Fort Lovrijenac featuring prominently in various scenes, this makes the city a popular destination for fans of the series.

Tenerife

I love exploring anywhere with a volcano and Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is home to Mount Teide, Spain’s highest peak and a prominent volcano.

Mount Teide is a stratovolcano that last erupted in 1909 and is part of Teide National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The park features stunning landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, and unique volcanic formations.

Visitors can hike to the summit or take a cable car to enjoy breathtaking views. The area is also popular for stargazing due to its clear skies and high altitude.

Not only are the island’s diverse landscapes breathtaking, with mild temperatures year-round, it’s a perfect destination for sun-seekers, especially in winter and with attractions like Loro Parque and Siam Park, it is a great destination for families looking for fun activities.

Greece

I love Greece and have been lucky enough to visit several Greek islands, so it’s really hard to choose just one.

Jet2 has flights from Bournemouth to a choice of seven of its islands including: Kos, Corfu, Crete, Rhodes, Symi, Zante and Kalymnos.

Greece has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, from sandy shores to quiet rocky coves plus the chance to explore ancient ruins like the Acropolis in Athens, the Palace of Knossos in Crete, and Delphi, which reveal the foundations of Western civilization.
