Land and Wave Children's Adventure Holiday Club

This summer we enjoyed a Staycation, with days out to local places and events.

Keeping the kids occupied for the entire summer can be a challenge, especially when you have to factor in work, so it is important to find somewhere that will not only look after them, but also give them a taste of adventure too.

This summer I booked the kids on to the Land and Wave Kids club run by which is set adjacent to the play park in Sandbanks and is perfect for energetic, outdoor loving children aged 8+.

Isaac has been to their kids holiday club a couple of times before with his friend Scott, but this was Eliza’s first time.

The day runs from 8.30am until 4.30pm and the team plan a series of different activities for the week, based on the weather.

Activities including: Kayaking, Paddle Boarding, Raft Building, Survival Skills, Orienteering, Archery, Coastal Exploration, Crabbing & more and on their first day they headed to Dancing Ledge, near Swanage for some climbing and abseiling.

I think Eliza especially had as much fun spotting the fossils in the rocks as she did climbing, but it was the second day of fun that was their favourite as it was all beach based and they got to try their hand at crabbing, giant paddle boarding and orienteering.

Although they enjoyed both days, it was the beach day that they loved the most with tales of games of “Silly Salmon” which saw them leaping off the giant paddle board doing their best Salmon impression – I only wish I had caught it on camera!

The instructors all took time to get to know the kids and their personalities and looked after them brilliantly.

For extra piece of mind, Land and Wave provide all the safety equipment, are registered with Ofsted and are able to accept Childcare Vouchers.

What the kids need to bring

  • Clothes suitable for outdoor fun
  • Swimwear
  • Towel
  • Two pairs of shoes – one sturdy pair for walking and I would recommend a pair of wet shoes or old trainers
  • Jumper
  • Lunch
  • Refillable Water Bottle
Paddle Board

The kids club costs £39 per day, or £175 for 5 days. For more information and for available dates head to: www.landandwave.co.uk/kids-holiday-club

This looks amazing. My kids loved the summer camp they did and I so wish there was something like this closer to us. Especially the SUP.

I love when places have kids clubs like this, and can’t wait until my 3 are old enough to enjoy! Right now they’re still too little to want to do much away from us!

It’s nice to see places like this that offer kids outdoor activities during the summer. As you stated, summer can be hectic, and trying to keep the kids entertained adds to the chaos. This is worth every penny.

I love seeing that there are local places where kids can go for the day while the parents work. Outdoors is where they should be during the summer, unless there’s bad weather, and they even have indoor activities as well!

That looks like an amazing time for the kids. I am not sure my daughter would be comfortable will all the activities as she still needs to get more confident in her swimming, but she would love this I’m sure.
