There are many great fishing destinations all over the world, yet Quepos in Costa Rica is widely considered one of the best. Quepos is a vibrant and stunning fishing town located near the world-famous Manuel Antonio National Park. It is an extremely popular holiday location and this post is here to provide you with all of the information you need to know regarding offshore and inshore fishing Quepos. So, let’s dive right in…

One of the main reasons why fishing in Quepos, Costa Rica is so popular is because you have the chance to hook an array of different fish. This includes all of the following, Wahoo, Roosterfish, Sailfish, Marlin, Dorado, Yellowfin Tuna, Mackerel, and more. The great thing about this is that there is something for everybody to enjoy, meaning beginners and experienced anglers can have huge amounts of fun. From fast fish, to strong fish, to those that do acrobatic jumps, Quepos has it all.

Another reason why this part of the world has become so popular is that there are lots of other activities that can be weaved in with your fishing trip. We have already mentioned the National Park, and there are lots of great restaurants and bars too. The beaches are incredible as well! Activities and adventures are highly popular here. In fact, we have seen a lot of people do charity challenges across Costa Rica in recent years, cycling through the country and truly embracing the amazing scenes while raising money for a good cause – what could be better?

Nonetheless, as Quepos has become extremely popular for fishing there are a lot of companies offering you the opportunity to spend a day on one of their boats. Because of this, you need to choose your Costa Rica fishing company with care. Look for someone with a wealth of experience and make sure they have a good reputation in the industry. Some of the best companies will even help you to plan your entire fishing vacation, including airport transfers and alike.

It is also advisable to know a bit of information regarding the various fishing seasons. One of the best things about fishing here is the fact that you have the opportunity to enjoy the sport all year round. However, there are some months that are better for certain types of fish. For example, the months between November and August are ideal for anyone who wants to hook Roosterfish and Snapper. However, Wahoo is mainly found between the months of December and February. So, this is something you should bear in mind if you wish to hook a particular species of fish.

So there you have it, all you need to know about enjoying an incredible fishing vacation in Costa Rica. This is something everyone should do at least once in his or her life. It doesn’t matter whether you have never tried fishing before or you are an experienced angler, you are guaranteed to have a fun time.
