Review: SandWorld Weymouth

We first visited SandWorld back in 2014 and were Wow’d by the incredible sculptures that were on display, which included tributes to Dr Who, WW2, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and more.

We were invited back to visit SandWorld in Weymouth for their 2025 festival and we were not disappointed!

The breathtaking, larger-than-life sand sculptures are updated every year and are crafted by some of the world’s most talented artists.

SandWorld is located in Weymouth’s Lodmoor Park, alongside Weymouth SeaLife Centre, Weymouth Bay Miniature Railway, Leisure Ranch Go Karts and Pirate Mini Golf, making it a perfect one-stop place to visit to entertain the kids.

Weymouth is situated in the heart of the Jurassic Coast, so it was very apt to have some dinosaur themed sculptures.

This unique, all-weather attraction brings incredible works of art to life using nothing but sand and water and there really is something for everyone!

There is plenty to keep the kids entertained too, with themed trails for all ages. Eliza and her friend Brooke loved finding all the answers to the more tricky question sheet, whilst Lilah enjoyed finding all the pictures of Simba. All three won treats at the end of the visit.

Lilah was excited to see some of her favourite characters from TV and film, including Stitch, Bluey and Minions.

Eliza was excited to show me the one she knew would be my favourite, although it was a close call as they’re all amazing.

You can also enjoy hands-on workshops and family-friendly activities, including sand art, making sand bottles, or just the opportunity to create your very own sandcastle masterpiece.

All the sand, water and tools are provided, there are tutorials on the walls and plenty of staff to join in and help if you need them.

I don’t think we will be getting commissioned for sand sculptures anytime soon, but had fun nonetheless.

Family tickets are available from £29.00.

Are we nearly there yet? is a new online blog run by me, Kara Guppy, and is named as such thanks to my daughter Eliza who always asks that very question when we are less than 5 minutes up the road heading off on our adventures. You may know me from my other family blog chelseamamma.co.uk
