5 Travel Essentials for a Sunshine Holiday
You have booked a sunshine holiday and now the planning us begun, but what essentials do you need to take with you.
If you are travelling by plane, beware of weight restrictions on your suitcase and whilst it is tempting to take a different outfit and shoes for every day and night, realistically it is just not possible.
5 Travel Essentials for a Sunshine Holiday
Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a great fashion accessory, but they are also a travel essential for any holiday as they protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.
It is important to buy a good quality pair which block 100% of UV rays to prevent eye problems caused by extended UV exposure.
Wide Brimmed Hat
A wide-brimmed hat is not only a great addition to help you escape the glare of the sun, but it can also help keep you cool and look fantastic – if the kids don’t steal it, that is!!
Capsule Wardrobe
Packing light is essential for travel and the best way to do this is to invest in a capsule wardrobe, which is a a collection of a few essential items of clothing which can be mixed and matched together.
For travel, I love my linen trousers which can be dressed down for the daytime, or dressed up for nice and keep me lovely and cool and I always take a pair of flip flops and some sturdier shoes, just in case we go walking off track.
I would also recommend taking a jumper / cardigan as despite being a sunshine holiday, it can still be rather chilly at night!
Sun Care
You have got the sunglasses and the hat, but don’t forget the sun cream and aftersun.
As someone who has sensitive skin and a tendency to burn, I use a minimum of factor 30 and my favourite brand is EVY Sun Mousse which absorbs easily, does not irritate sensitive skin and is suitable for use by all the family.
To keep your tan looking its best, use a moisturiser that contains aloe vera or soy to help soothe sunburned skin.
Water Bottle
Take a good quality water bottle that can be refilled easily as keeping hydrated is vital when visiting a warm country.
Don’t forget that you are not permitted to carry liquids over 100ml through customs, so make sure they are empty before you travel and refill them on the other side.
