8 fun things to do this May half term in Poole
It already feels like the kids have had lots of time off during May thanks to all the bank holiday’s this year, but they have another week as we head towards June.
Thankfully, there are a few new attractions here in Poole, which will keep them entertained.
Here are some of our favourite places to visit:
Flip Out Poole
Flip Out Poole opened its doors to the public on 27th May, just in time for half term.
Despite its name, it does not have trampolines, however, there is plenty to keep the kids entertained. Flip Out has a set price for either 2 or 3 hour sessions and once you’re inside you can use the facilities as much as you like.
There is a small soft play for children 1.2m and under, E-Karting, Interactive Football, Laser Tag, Bumper Cars, a Battle Canon Arena and a Roller Rink, plus arcade games on the ground floor (these are pay extra).
My kids definitely enjoyed the bumper cars and the E-Karts the most and Eliza was disappointed that the roller rink wasn’t open on our visit.
Tickets cost from £13.95 for two hours, £8.95 for children under 1.2m and Spectator tickets cost £2.50 but this can be redeemed back in their delicious Diner!
Putt Putt Noodle
Putt Putt Noodle Poole was a resounding hit with my three with three fantastic Asian inspired indoor crazy golf courses.
There are three courses to choose from; Cherry Blossom, Crouching Tiger and Dragon’s Quest and you can choose to play just one, two or all three.
For those feeling a bit peckish, Putt Putt Noodle also serves delicious Asian Street Food and has a large bar area which serves a variety of drinks, including slushies and bubble tea.
Tickets for Putt Putt Noodle cost from £7 per play, with a family ticket (2 x adults and 2x children) for all three courses costing £49
High Score Arcade
The new High Score family entertainment centre offers an awesome lineup of arcade games for everyone.
Unlike many pay-as-you-go arcades, High Score sees you pay an admission fee which gives you access to over 80 games. Tickets cost £11.95 per hour, or buy a family ticket for £38.24.
British wildlife-themed adventure golf course
Upton Country Park has always been a firm favourite place for a day out and now they have just opened a British wildlife-themed 9 hole adventure golf course is ready and waiting to welcome customers!
Located next to the Education Centre, this tee-riffic new family-friendly activity is packed with lots of fun features. Priced at just £3 per person for the 1st round, play again for £2. Children aged 3 and under go free.
Tower Park
Tower Park is home to a whole host of activities and restaurants, including Cineworld, Hollywood Bowl, Splashdown and Lemur Landings.
Splashdown
Splashdown is hands-down the kids favourite day out locally.
It is a water park that features both indoor and outdoor slides, a toddler play area and a small swimming pool. Prices start from £17 for a two hour session.
Lemur Landings
Perfect for younger members of the family, Lemur Landings is a huge children’s indoor soft play for under 12s. It has a role play village for the under 6’s, a toddler playframe and a huge playframe for older kids, sky tykes low ropes course, a LED climbing wall and a Digi Wall.
Entry prices are dependant on age: £11.95 for 4-11 year old, £9.95 for 3-4 year olds, £7.75 for 1 & 2 year olds and £3.85 for under 1’s.
Hollywood Bowl
There are two Hollywood Bowl sites in Poole, this one at Tower Park and one closer to Bournemouth town centre in Branksome.
Hollywood Bowl also has an arcade area and pool tables, making it the perfect venue to take teenagers.
Insanity Gaming Arcade
A fantastic array of over 60 machines and consoles, all set to free play, ready for unlimited use during your session!
Entrance costs from £8 per adult for a one hour session and £5 per child.
