A View from The Shard
During the February half-term school holidays, each paying adult to The View from The Shard visiting between Monday 15th and Sunday 21st February 2016 is entitled to two child tickets free of charge.
The View from The Shard provides families with an unforgettable experience, and is the perfect place to nurture a child’s fascination with the history of London. From the spectacular 64km (40 mile), 360-degree view, families can spot both modern and historic landmarks, including The Houses of Parliament, The Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, the Olympic Park and Wembley Stadium.
New for half-term, children can play the ‘Spot the Sights’ game for the chance to win a Romeo the Fox goody bag! Activity sheets are available at The View from The Shard ticket desk, or download at home from the website here.
London is brought to life throughout the attraction with multimedia guides and state of the art, exciting kaleidescopic, super-fast lifts to the top (hold on to your tummy!). On Level 69, high-tech, interactive ‘Tell:scopes’ enable exploration of the cityscape in every direction, providing information about surrounding landmarks, and the chance to see how the capital’s architecture has changed over the centuries with historic views from the Museum of London archives dating back as far as Roman times. Isaac was fascinated by all the facts on his tablet which made landmarks easier to find from our vantage point and the Tell:scopes allowed us to zoom in on each building.
The 72nd floor is the open air floor, although it was a little chilly. You can hear what is going on outside and we had a very exciting flypast by a police helicopter who announced himself by the sound of the blades slapping the air around us. The pilot put on a real show for us and waved to the kids before zooming back off on their police duties.
Every Sunday: (excluding Kids Go Free period), family groups of four now have the option to purchase a family ticket for £74.95 (saving over 20%). Available to book online, the package is valid for groups of either 2 Adults with 2 Children, or, 1 Adult with 3 Children.

Oh I’m gutted I’m not back from Australia till March as I definetley would’ve taken this offer up. It looks great and I’ve been desperate to go for ages. I like the fact that have a spot the sights for the kids x

I love the views and the helicopter must have been brilliant. I would love to take the kids up but I’ll be doing it alone. My hubby can’t stand heights. (A fact I found out when we were halfway up the Eiffel Tower!)
