Eating Out Just for Us

A Birthday Meal at NEO Restaurant Bournemouth

When Hubby asked me where I wanted to go for a birthday meal, I reeled off all the previous restaurants we had been to but we both agreed we wanted to be a little more adventurous and try somewhere new.
But where?
Hubby asked around at work and one restaurant stood out above the rest – NEO!
Set in a huge glass building opposite Bournemouth Pier, NEO Restaurant has been open just two months and looks spectacular with 180° of floor to ceiling windows which offer views over Bournemouth Garden, the Pier and the beach.
Neo Bournemouth
On the downstairs of the building is a cocktail bar with seating and a small outdoor area and upstairs is the main dining area as it has the best views.
Neo Restaurant
We arrived for our booking and were immediately shown to our table. Sadly it was not directly beside the window but we still had good views from where we were sat near the middle of the restaurant.
Neo Restaurant
The restaurant still has that “new” smell but the staff made it seem like they had been there for years with attentive service, great knowledge of the menu and their own recommendations. We were immediately presented with some complimentary bread with butter and rock salt to enjoy as we made our meal selection.
Neo Restaurant
Hubby, a creature of habit, chose Sirloin Steak for his meal and I decided upon Piri Piri Chicken. There was also a great selection of freshly caught local fish too.
Neo Restaurant
Both our meals were cooked to perfection and just the right amount to leave that all important room for dessert.
Neo Restaurant
The staff were attentive without being pushy and ensured that we were looked after. When it came to choosing desserts I went for something light with a sorbet dish whereas Hubby fancied an ice cream sundae.
Neo Bournemouth
Again, both dishes were delicious and freshly made.
Neo Bournemouth
I cannot fault NEO Bournemouth. The decor was stunning and made the most of the spectacular sea views. It was all finished to extremely high standards and even the toilets drew a “WOW” moment from me as they were all finished in walnut with traditional Thomas Crapper fixtures and fittings.
Neo Bournemouth
Hopefully our next visit won’t be on a school night and I will be able to sample some of their delicious sounding cocktails.
Neo Bournemouth
NEO Restaurant is open from 11am daily and has menu’s and treats to suit every budget, from coffee and cake to a bar / terrace menu, an express menu to main meals and its proximity to the BIC means it is ideal for pre-show drinks.
Great hospitality, stunning surroundings and the beautiful setting make the perfect partner for such delicious food.
