Review: GLOW Marwell 2025
Visiting Marwell Zoo for their Christmas lights experience has become a family tradition and this year is no different.
We were invited along to their preview evening on Thursday, to experience their enchanted journey of light and nature.

The great thing about GLOW Marwell, is that no year is the same and there were lots of fantastic new light installations to see and well as some fabulous Christmas Market stalls at the entrance, selling everything from light and bubble wands, to artisan Gin and clothing. Try the chocolate Rhino Gin – it really does taste like Toblerone!

The start of the magical light show takes you past fluorescent animal faces and giant light tunnels.

You then travel to a spectacular wonderland where sparkling snowflakes light the way, glitterballs hang from the trees, giant dragonflies hover among the leaves, and glowing animal sculptures shine in spectacular colours.

There are also plenty of spots for those all important photo opportunities.

Also back this year is the opportunity to visit Santa, in the fantastic and beautifully decorated Marwell Hall.

Start your journey with storytelling from one of Santa’s elves, before heading into the workshop to make a Christmas decoration craft. Write a letter to Santa and take a selfie in his sleigh, before meeting the man himself! All children will receive a gift from Santa (worth £14.95).

Please note that the grotto experience must be pre-booked and is likely to be very popular, so book early to secure your preferred date!

They also have mouthwatering festive menus at Café Graze and The Keeper’s Kitchen, or you can visit the festive food cabins outside Marwell Hall to treat yourself to a range of foodie delights, from luxury hot chocolates to traditional bratwurst.

The kids favourite is back too – the chance to gather round the firepit to toast marshmallows!

The final stretch back to the beginning, is a Candy Cane Lane inspired walk, complete with snow machines and bubbles and then a final 12 days of Christmas inspired installation, which had us all singing along.

The GLOW Marwell light trail is open from 5pm – 8pm, whilst day entry to Marwell Zoo is from 10am – 4pm, with prices starting from £24.95 for adults and £19.95 for children.
