Holiday Inn Camden Lock Review
Last weekend I had a child-free evening at the Holiday Inn at Camden Lock where I was attending the Britmums Fringe Party before staying the night and heading to Britmums Live the following day.
The Fringe Party was held in the stunning Glasshouse at the hotel, which is a gorgeous space with tall windows overlooking the lock. We arrived slightly later than planned thanks to London traffic and a confused satnav and found the room full of some of my favourite blogging friends.
It was lovely to catch up friends old and new as we helped ourselves to complimentary drinks and nibbles.
Once the Fringe Party ended we all spilled into the hotel’s colourful, contemporary open lobby, complete with a generous seating area and bar. I was very tempted to take the rollerboots on display for a spin!
My room had the same view as the Glasshouse as it looked out over the lock. Opening the doors to the Juliet balcony let in the buzz of Camden, with people partying all around. Thankfully closing the doors silenced this noise meaning I could get a good nights sleep.
The maid left not one, but two notes for me to find, wishing me a pleasant stay, which was a lovely touch and made me feel more welcome.
The room wasn’t the largest I have stayed in, but it had everything I needed, including air conditioning, an iron, widescreen TV, tea and coffee-making facilities, free wifi and plenty of storage.
The en suite had a large mirror, and a modern bathroom suite with a sink and a bath with a decent shower unit over it.
The bed was a King size double and was really comfortable. It is not often I sleep well in a hotel room but I had the best night’s sleep I have had in ages.
The Holiday Inn also took its artwork in the corridors from its location which I thought was a lovely touch.
Sadly I didn’t get to sample breakfast as I was up and out early for Britmums Live but I really enjoyed my stay with Holiday Inn Camden Lock. It is not somewhere I would have considered staying with children in tow but I was impressed to find out that kids stay and eat free and the lobby also offers all-day dining.
The hotel itself is in the heart of Camden, steps away from Camden Tube station and is handy for bus routes around town and attractions such as London Zoo, Madam Tussauds and the British Library.

A quirky place that’s close to attractions in London makes it a perfect stay for family days out and visits to the city. I’ve only tried out a Holiday Inn outside of the city so it’s interesting to see what it’s like there. Looks like a lot of fun – glad you enjoyed it ๐

This is so very Camden, which sounds like an odd thing to say, but if you know Camden well it would make sense x
