Review: Christmas at Stourhead
I love National Trust locations and one of my all time favourites is Stourhead, thanks to its beautiful gardens and gorgeous architecture. In fact, Autumn at Stourhead is a sight to behold.
One thing I had yet to do is Christmas at Stourhead, but this weekend I got to visit and I completely agree with its accolade as one of the best Christmas events in the South West.
Christmas at Stourhead is back for 2025 with an enchanting after-dark illuminated trail, creating unforgettable moments for families, friends, and couples alike.

We arrived a little early, so it was dusk when we started the trail, and although the lights shone bolder and brighter in the darkness, there was something rather magical about seeing the sun set behind the trees and the lights coming to life as they danced around the lake.

The route takes you on a mile long wander through the grounds of Stourhead, with dazzling Christmas fire and light trails along the way, as well as an exciting new star show, lasers, and a magical choir of trees.

For an extra special treat, you might even get a magical glimpse of Father Christmas along the way!

For those who might struggle with distance, there are plenty of places to stop and have a rest along the way, some with seasonal treats, from warm mulled wine and hot chocolate to delicious festive food that will keep you fuelled as you explore.

Adult tickets cost from £16, children £12 with under 2’s free. Family tickets start from £50 – please note that booking parking is recommended and parking is only free for National Trust members.

The lights are open now until 31st December, but hurry, tickets are booking up fast.

@chelseamamma Christmas at Stourhead in the dark. It's great at dusk but even better when the sun has gone down! @National Trust #stourhead #fyp #foryoupage #daysoutwiththekids #christmasdaysout ♬ original sound – chelseamamma
