Review: Residence Inn, Slough

When is a hotel not a hotel?

When it is an aparthotel.

We were invited to review Residence Inn, in Slough which shares the same building as the Moxy, but occupies the upper floors of the building.

The hotel is in the perfect location for visiting nearby attractions, including Legoland and Windsor Castle, or heading into London, as it is a short 5 minute stroll to Slough train station and just a 20 minute train ride into Paddington Station and also offers free parking in the TVU car park opposite the hotel.

The real selling point of the hotel is the space for families.

Their apartment style rooms come equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, allowing you to self cater if you want to save money, a dining area, desk, lounge area, bathroom and bedroom.

The rooms are perfect for families, with TV’s both in the bedroom and the lounge area, which allow you to screen share from your device, so you can watch any of your streaming services and not have to rely on terrestrial TV – a great option with small people in tow.

Breakfast is included as part of the stay and offers buffet style, continental and english breakfast options in their bar / lounge area.

Bar style dining is available at the Moxy downstairs, although the hotel is less than a 5 minute walk to the High Street with many more dining options.

The kids really enjoyed eating downstairs in the Moxy, as it also offered leisure facilities including ping pong and football tables as well as board and bar games.

The service in the hotel is excellent and they are happy to help with any queries. My son left his Nintendo Switch behind and they went above and beyond to ensure it was back in his hands as quickly as possible.

There is also an on-site gym for guests and if you choose to self cater, a huge Tesco Extra is opposite the building.

The hotel is also one of the partners for Legoland Holiday’s, offering short breaks including admission to LEGOLAND, which is a short 15 minute drive away.

Prices for the tickets and hotel package for a family of 3 start from £282 incl VAT (based on 2 adults and 1 child sharing a one-bedroom suite) and include a LEGO treat for your child.

What a fab place to stay for a visit to Legoland. I love how the room is a bit more than a room with the fitted kitchen – which is great for families. The Moxy looks really good fun!

Are we nearly there yet? is a new online blog run by me, Kara Guppy, and is named as such thanks to my daughter Eliza who always asks that very question when we are less than 5 minutes up the road heading off on our adventures. You may know me from my other family blog chelseamamma.co.uk
