Review: Wake The Tiger, Bristol

During the summer, we visited Kian in Bristol for the day and upon looking for something to do, happened upon Wake The Tiger.

Wake the Tiger is the first “amazement park” in the UK and we had no idea what to expect.

The journey begins outside, where a half sunken car is fenced off and the weirdness continues as you head inside.

A mysterious tree has stopped construction of some luxury apartments. What you stumble across is the opportunity to step through a portal into an alternate world; the world of Meridia. If you dare to take the leap, you’ll be transported into The Dream Factory in Meridia; a world of Explorers, Alchemists & Adventurers staging wild experiments to find the solutions to their world’s problems…not too dissimilar to our own world’s.

Wake The Tiger’s out-of-this-world experience is a self-guided, walk-through labyrinth of exploration which begins in an abandoned paint factory before journeying into the Dream Factory, and finally transcending to the OUTERverse and it really does feel like you are stepping into another world.

There are 40 immersive environments, where you can interact with mesmerising art, dive into the story behind this unbelievably challenged alternate world, take part in science experiments and challenges and wonder at all the different rooms.

Everywhere you look, there is something amazing to see, they really have thought of everything.

Although you loosely follow a story within the attraction, there is no set path, so each experience is unique – we found secret pathways and doorways through metal filing cabinets, bookcases and wardrobes.

The interactive elements were really engaging for both kids and adults with lots of mini puzzles to complete to get the experiments to work.

It really is a magical place to experience – we felt like we were in an alternate universe and it is an instagrammers / tiktokers dream as there are so many photo ops.

We spent almost 3 hours exploring the site and finding all the different exhibits. There really is something for all ages.

Tickets to Wake The Tiger cost from £15 per adult and £12.50 per child and a family of four is £55.

Are we nearly there yet? is a new online blog run by me, Kara Guppy, and is named as such thanks to my daughter Eliza who always asks that very question when we are less than 5 minutes up the road heading off on our adventures. You may know me from my other family blog chelseamamma.co.uk
