The Broadway Hotel, Llandudno Review

I am part of the Approved Family Friendly network whom get to review hotels and restaurants to see if they are family friendly, so I was excited when an email dropped into my inbox looking for someone to review the Broadway Hotel in Llandudno as we were planning a trip to Zip World which is located nearby.
The 150 year old hotel is situated less than a minutes walk from the promenade in the traditional seaside resort of Llandudno, North Wales and is run by Sheryl and Mark. They have been running the hotel for 9 years and have made numerous changes including installing central heating, ensuite bathrooms and showers and have created a warm and inviting feel.
There is limited car parking at the hotel with just 3 spaces which are allocated on a first booked basis, however there is plenty of street parking nearby to use.
We were staying in the Family Suite which was more like a small flat rather than a hotel room and the kids had a seperate bedroom which is perfect for getting a little bit of privacy when travelling with small people. The room was easily accessible by lift or stairs.
The Broadway Hotel
In the room was a kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits, complimentary toiletries, a hair dryer, desk, wardrobe, that all important television with freeview in both rooms and a private bathroom. The hotel can also provide a cot if required too.
The Broadway Hotel
The rooms were clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated and the bathroom was modern and bright. We even had a sea view!
The Broadway Hotel
The hotel felt like a real home from home and we were almost sad to be staying for just one night.
The Broadway Hotel
The kids got an activity pack each which would keep them occupied in their room, but if you wanted to get out of the rooms there was a kids corner downstairs.
The Broadway

In the Alice in Wonderland themed kids corner play area was a TV with DVD’s, games including noughts and crosses and giant jenga and comfy chairs and tables for the adults to sit and comfortably supervise with a cup of tea. It takes the Alice in Wonderland theme because the real Alice regularly holidayed in the resort.
The Broadway Hotel
The hotel is fully licensed with drinks being served in their comfortable Lounge and Bar, which has the benefit of having free WIFI and a large flat screen TV.
The Broadway Hotel
The bright and airy restaurant is open for breakfast between 7.30am – 9am for breakfast and again from 5.30pm – 7.00pm for dinner with a locally sourced menu offering a wide selection of choices. A 3 Course Menu costs just £19.95 per person and breakfast is included with your room.
The Broadway Hotel
The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly and passionate about their gorgeous seaside town and I would have no hesitation about recommending this hotel as family friendly. Our only grumble was that there was no wifi in our room, which with a teen in tow wasn’t ideal.
We did leave the hotel to get some fresh air and explore Llandudno’s immaculate seafront which is gracefully framed by two headlands.
Llandudno
Llandudno’s pier is the longest in Wales and much bigger than our Pier here in Bournemouth at 700m in length and offers spectacular views of the seafront and Snowdonia behind.
Llandudno
North Wales is somewhere we are keen to explore more and am looking forward to returning and using The Broadway as a base for a week.

How close to the see is that? Perfect! I love hotels that give you extra space as a family. There’s nothing worse than being packed in together with the kids jammed on a small sofa bed, when you’ve expected something more. This looks great, and I am now craving that breakfast!! 🙂

It does look very comfortable and I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never been Llandudno (I have been to so many other places in Wales).

Llandudno is one of our favourites, especially with the Alice trail. We last went in 2014 but really should head back again as it’s not far at all for us in Cheshire. My son loves the pebble beach and throwing them into the sea. Looks like you had a nice accommodation, perfect for seaside exploring.

I love how close to the sea it is and it looks like a great stay for families. North Wales isn’t somewhere I’ve explored much at all and this makes me really want to, it looks beautiful.

How lovely the Broadway Hotel is located so close to the beach. I think I remember Llandudno from when I was a child and we spent some time in Wales. Was a long time ago mind! Sounds like it had a great family set-up and you all had a good time. Lovely looking brekkie!
