Eating Out

Treffry Tavern Table Table Restaurant Newquay Review

We have visited Trevella Park in Newquay twice now and one of the highlights of our stay is always a meal at Table Table restaurant The Treffry Tavern which is named after Jospeh Thomas Treffry, a local Cornish engineer.
The restaurant was busy when we arrived but they found us a table and seated us quickly. The kids spotted a good selection of books that were on offer and selected the ones they wanted to read whilst we waited for our drinks to arrive. Isaac chose Dr Who and is now watching all the old series with him.
They also received Horrible Histories Packs with their menu’s which they took back and completed in the caravan as they were so content with their books.

The kids menu’s at Table Table are just £3.99 for a main course and either a starter or dessert which is very reasonable and we really appreciated the flexibility of being able to choose two sides for each meal as my lot can be fussy monkeys! The adult autumn menu had just been introduced and was packed full of delicious warming meals now the weather id getting cooler.
Despite being rushed off their feet our meals arrived within 20 minutes and we had to tear the kids away from their books to begin eating.

I went for the chicken and leek pie which was delicious but very filling, hubby went for the double stack steak burger and Kian had the Streaky Bacon and cheese topped chicken breast. The kids were less adventurous with chicken pops, but all chose different side dishes.
The service was brilliant, with the waiter checking we were ok and hurrying off to get Isaac some barbecue sauce. The tables were cleared quickly once we had finished and our dessert order taken.

There was one thing on the dessert menu that caught all our eye – the Jaffa Cake Sundae. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream, mixed with Jaffa Cake pieces, orange syrup and chocolate flavoured sauce, topped with a whip of cream and a Jaffa Cake, Oh my, it was delicious!!!
Isaac, Eliza and Sebby all chose the Scary Face Sundae which is vanilla ice cream, strawberry laces, mini chocolate beans, milk teeth gums and a cone for the kids to make scary sundaes?
Full to bursting it was time to go, with our bill coming in at £75 which is very reasonable for a family of six. We were cursing for not checking our emails after as found a £10 off voucher when we got home.
As we left the waiter apologised for any delays, which we had not noticed. Apparently it was his first day and had been pulled from the bar to cover for someone who had phoned in ill. He had nothing to worry about, the service was excellent and the only thing that gave away they were short staffed was the empty glasses we spotted being stacked up on the bar as we left.
We will certainly be back to the Treffry Tavern on our next visit to Cornwall.

That is good value and sounds like great service. I liked it when staff have their first day they are usually very good but apologetic.

The jaffa cake sundae would have caught my eye too! Love it when the little ones get as good service as the grown ups do. Makes dining out so much easier.
