Where to stay when visiting Futuroscope

When researching our recent holiday to France, I wanted to stay as close to Futuroscope as possible.

The area around Futuroscope reminded us of Milton Keynes as is surrounded by a business park and hotels, so there are plenty to choose from, including one on site, but we opted for Hotel Altéora Futuroscope, just 500m from the main entrance.

Situated opposite the Palais des Congrès, the hotel does offer a free shuttle bus service to the park entrance, but we chose to walk along the tree lined road as it is just a 10 minute walk.

With five of us travelling, we had a family connect room which has 2 bedrooms – one with a large king size bed and the other with three single beds.

The room also has a large bathroom with shower above the bath and a separate WC.

Other features include a widescreen TV, air conditioning, hair dryer, desk area and free WiFi, which was strong enough for the kids to stream videos on their tablets.

There are two restaurants in the hotel, a family friendly Pizza restaurant or for a more formal dining experience, La Parenthèse. I have to admit that we only ever had breakfast in the hotel.

Breakfast was served as a buffet style, with continental options including meat, fruit and pastries.

There was also tea, coffee, hot chocolate and fruit juices on offer.

For the kids there was also a small games room and an outdoor pool to enjoy.

The Hotel Altéora Futuroscope felt quite dated decor wise, but was clean and comfortable and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.

The hotel sells Futuroscope tickets to save queuing when you get on site and also offers a small gift shop area, with themed gifts from Futuroscope on offer.

It seems like a great place to stay even if the decor could do with an upgrade. It is always handy to be able to stay near places you need to be.

The food buffet looks nice. I like that they have got things labeled, as often they don’t do this and it can be a bit tricking trying to work out what things are, especially when your a vegetarian
