Why snow holidays are perfect for us!

This winter has been the one where the kids have truly fallen in love with snow.
Before now, they had a really romantic idea of snow; building snowmen, throwing snowballs and hurtling down the hills aboard sledges and boards, but the reality was that it was too cold and we were weren’t adequately prepared for the white stuff.
This year we had all the right equipment, the correct clothing and it made the world of difference to our enjoyment of the freezing weather, even when the temperature reached the dizzy lows of -18°C at one point.

There is something so magical about seeing the world around you glistening in white, giving it an almost mystical appearance and seeing the kids gazing in wonder at the different colours in the sky. It really made our hearts sing and we have come to the realisation that snow holidays are perfect for us.

One of the highlights of our winter holiday was the toboggan run and the kids proved they have no fear by launching themselves down the steepest of hills, giggling as they whizzed past.

Of course, any family holiday should mean just that and us parents need a break from everyday life too and it wasn’t long before we were shrieking like children as we raced down the hills with them.

Mark Warner has opened its ambassador program for another year and are looking for families to try out both their sun and ski resorts.
We had such an amazing time on holiday with them in Turkey a few years ago and have not found a holiday like it since. Their children’s activities are second to none and the kids learned to sail, windsurf and kayak with them. In fact, both Kian and Isaac have continued lessons at home since returning and I am sure Eliza will too when given the opportunity.

Much as we would love to visit their new Turkish resort, Phokaia Beach Resort, which offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, it is the mountains that are calling us and the kids are the perfect age to learn to ski or snowboard.

With resorts in France, Italy and Austria there is a location to suit everyone and their childcare is themed all around the stunning location with sledging, snow sculptures, face painting, games and treasure hunts as well as Nannies on hand to help take the kids to their ski lessons.

I know that the kids would be in good hands whilst Hubby and I found our snow legs again. It’s been 20 something years since we last hit the slopes and we are in desperate need of some practice as I am pretty sure our fearless kids will be whizzing past us in no time!!

Have you been skiing with the kids?

I definitely think snow helps bring out the kid in everyone — plus there is definitely something magical and full of wonder seeing the world covered in a blanket of snow 🙂

I haven’t been on a snow holiday in years but when I went to Switzerland one of my favourite things was to go tobogganing and eating smores, not at the same time mind

I’ve never been on a snow holiday but I’m really tempted although I’d be a disaster on the slopes! xo

This looks like loads of fun. We’ve never gone on a snow holiday before, but we might just have to change that!
