February 6, 2019

We are huge fans of Winchester Science Centre and we all know that February half term (15th – 25th Feb) can be a bit hit and miss weather wise.

Now you can treat the kids to the perfect fun-filled day out, by sparking their curiosity with an awe-inspiring live science show that explores the science behind the magic.

Watch colours change before your very eyes and discover the secret of the disappearing act! Children can also get hands-on in the Invention Studio creating their own optical illusions and enjoy interactive science busking, including mind-blowing card tricks, from the Science Centre’s Inspirers.

Live Action Planetarium Show: You Are Here!

Also this February Half Term, from 16th – 22th February is the live action Planetarium Show: You Are Here!!

We actually saw this show when it visited We Are Curious in Bristol and thoroughly enjoyed this show with a difference.

You are Here! is an exciting new type of family planetarium show that perfectly combines live theatre with an immersive 360˚ full-dome experience.

Join the hosts of “Wow Tours: as they take you to find “the most incredible, remarkable, mind-blowing thing in the universe!”, equipped only with light -up umbrellas and a mysterious A-Z guidebook of the Galaxy. It was great fun to take part in and showed us some of the most remarkable things in space.

Admission to Winchester Science Centre costs £12 per person, including entry to the new Explorer:Space zone, upper exhibition floor, live science show and Invention Studio activities. Planetarium tickets are sold separately and cost £5.50 with General Admission or £8.60 for show-only.

This sounds like the most amazing place to take kids this half term. There is something wonderful about seeing science come to life in front of you.

Ah this sounds like an amazing experience! I love that it’s combining both science and magic, definitely something I would have loved when I was younger!

This sounds the perfect half term day out. I love places like this that make learning fun for little one. We have a similar science museum nearby (though nowhere near as big by the sound of it) and Ellie always loved going when she was younger.
