Winter’s toughest conditions no match for KEEN’s latest Kids Collection

December 8, 2020

One of the benefits of the first lockdown of 2020 was that we got better acquainted with our local area and discovered some amazing walks on our doorstep and adventures will certainly be taking a different shape this Autumn and Winter, thanks to the change of seasons and certainty of colder weather and inclement conditions in the months to come.

Time in the great outdoors has never been more important for all ages, whether the kids are kicking through conkers on an Autumnal visit to the local park or building snowmen in the garden.

We are big fans of KEEN footwear, who have got the kids covered, with their diverse range of super comfortable, stylish and functional footwear.

Climbing-Trees

For over 15 years, KEEN has produced market-leading outdoor footwear known for its innovation, craftsmanship, comfort, and durability and we were sent shoes for Isaac, Eliza and Sebastian to put to the test.

Regular readers of my blog will know that we are a family that likes to be outside, enjoying walks in the countryside, with the kids competing to see who can climb the highest up a tree, so we need shoes that are comfortable, water resistant, keep them warm and have a good grip!

Isaac and Sebastian were sent the Keen Redwood Boots, perfect for powder drifts through to slush and mush.

Redwood Boots Sebby

The Redwood WP is a classic leather snow boot destined for extreme winter fun with gussets that keep snow out, and KEEN.WARM insulation rated to -32°C and mitten-friendly closures.

A PFC-Free Durable Water Repellent repels water and dirt without the use of harmful chemicals, whilst pesticide-free Eco Anti-Odor insoles keep little feet smelling sweet using only natural materials, so eliminating harmful pesticides and biocides from going into the environment.

Additional features include a quick dry lining, padded tongue and collar for extra comfort, high traction TPU outsole and a KEEN.DRY membrane for climate and comfort control in all conditions. Choose from a Mid cut in three colours (RRP £70) or Redwood Winter WP with tall upper, KEEN.DRY membrane and Velcro straps (RRP £80) in youth and children’s sizes.

Eliza received the new Kelsa Tall WP (RRP £60), which has a sporty vulcanised look, sure to please the most particular princesses.

Light on the planet but not on features, this waterproof boot is built using a direct injection construction, minimising adhesives and a PFC free 210d nylon shaft, keeping dirt and water at bay with no use of nasty chemicals.

Just like the boys boots, the KEEN.WARM insulation keeps feet toasty even in sub-zero temperatures, whilst a super comfy shearling lining features an Eco Anti Odor sockliner to fend off whiffs without the use of harmful chemicals or pesticides.

There are four great girly colours to choose from including Caramel Café and Pink Blush.

We were really impressed with the boots, not only are they warm and comfy, but they are easy to take on and off and even kept the kids feet dry after an impromptu paddle.

Keen sounds like a great brand indeed especially if you love spending time outdoors. Their footwear is also very stylish. My kids could do with them as well as we walk a lot
