Mifold Portable Grab and Go Car Booster Seat Review and Giveaway
As people that travel a lot, I was really excited to receive the mifold – Grab-and-Go Booster® seat to review.
Car seats are an extremely topical subject right now, with stats showing that in around 30% of journeys that children take they are travelling illegally without any kind of car seat at all. These journeys include cab rides, transport on holidays, outings with grandparents or school friends and those unexpected trips when there is a need to take an additional child in the car.
The UK car seat law requires all children travelling in the front or rear seat of any car, van or goods vehicle must use the correct child car seat until they are either 135 cm in height or 12 years old (which ever they reach first). After this they must use an adult seat belt.
This means that I have three children that will still be using car seats for the foreseeable future as even at the age of 9, Isaac is only 122cm tall.
One of my biggest bugbears with this is that many cars do not accommodate three car seats across the backseat, which thankfully isn’t an issue with my own car, but if we do hire a car or travel abroad the whole car seat debacle can be a real issue.
This is where the mifold – the Grab-and-Go Booster® seat comes in!
The mifold booster seat is ’10 x smaller’ than existing booster seats and its compact portable design enables children to have it on them at all times, meaning no child should ever have to travel in a vehicle again without being correctly restrained. There is nothing else like it on the market, making it completely unique.
mifold’s team of top designers, engineers and industry experts have together revolutionised the way that a traditional booster seat works. Regular booster seats lift a child to be in the position of an adult, whereas mifold does the exact opposite by holding the seatbelt down.
It’s that simple! With 3 belt guides, mifold adjusts the lap belt and shoulder strap to fit the child and accurately holds the seat belt on the hip bones and shoulder, offering the correct amount of restraint in case of impact.
The mifold takes less than 30 seconds to fit per child – simple press the button underneath to release and pull out the side seatbelt guides and it is ready to go! mifold is safe, foldable and portable enabling parents and caregivers to use it in situations that current car seats on the market today are unable to accommodate.
Smaller than an iPad, mifold is so compact you can store it almost anywhere: glove compartment, door pocket, seat back, underfloor storage compartment or in a child’s school bag. This means that each of your children can have one with them at all times ensuring that they always have a safe way to travel on those unexpected journeys.
I do the cubs run for some of Isaac’s friends and one of their pet hates is sitting in one of the car seats, but they are more than happy to use the mifold as it is so discreet doesn’t make them feel ‘babyish’.
mifold is a stage 2/3 carseat and suitable for children from the age of 4 all the way up to 12 years.** And with approval according to the European regulation R44.4, mifold meets the highest legal standards for child restraint systems, so parents can rest assured that their child will never have to travel without a car restraint again.
Thanks to mifold, I have a grab and go booster seat to giveaway to one lucky reader in the colour of their choice.

mifold UK
Hi, Kara… this is the mifold UK team. We wanted to thank you for the lovely article, this is exactly why mifold has been designed – to make sure that people can use a safety restraint in those times when a regular car seat is not available: during the school run, on unexpected journeys with relatives, in taxis, on holiday, in rental cars, sitting three-in-a-row and so on. By being so compact and portable, there is no longer any excuse for any child to travel unrestrained again.
